The Sacred Duty of Learning the Qur’an

Learning the Qur’an is a deeply rewarding act of worship in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.” (Bukhari). This emphasizes the spiritual status of those who dedicate themselves to understanding the divine text. Learning includes correct recitation (Tajweed), memorization (Hifz), and understanding its meanings (Tafsir). When approached with sincerity, Qur’an study strengthens one’s faith (iman), shapes character, and guides daily life decisions. Teaching the Qur’an extends the reward indefinitely, as every letter taught brings barakah (blessing).
